In South America, mate moves from one person to the next: friends, family, and strangers in the park, at the beach, in the office. It has been that way for centuries. The ritual builds connection more naturally than almost anything else. The energy is real: clean and sustained, without the crash or edge of coffee. By the time the gourd has gone around a few times, people leave feeling genuinely connected.
The Experience
Forty-five minutes, a room full of people who have probably never tried mate, and a ritual shaped by centuries of South American history and culture. Guests learn how mate is prepared, why it has been shared socially for generations, and what makes the experience so unique. Everyone gets their own mate, drinks together, and conversation starts to unfold naturally from there.
Everything is provided.
Each guest receives their own mate and bombilla for the session. Yete handles setup and full cleanup. You just show up.
Dan did an excellent job teaching the history of Yerba Mate, the cultural significance, and the beautiful community oriented ritual. The whole event was engaging and I'll definitely be having Mate again soon.
